30 Interesting Russian Website Designs

with 12 comments

Tedious and very professional sites, that’s what Russian website design are all about. Some of them found inspiration in the old regime and exploited the specific minimal graphic with strong message and deep impact on the subject; even though these particular pages are not elaborate as they are sparkling through graphic and concept, they remain still, very functional, pleasant and powerful tools. Mainly, these guys make an interesting and original object which exploits positively a negative concept (if analyzing a bit the movement).

30 Interesting Russian Website Designs

Overall, the sites bellow represent a collection of confident and smooth lines, with no exaggerated artifice and a very balanced chromatic, very well adapted to each of the subjects they are dedicated to; in this behalf, see also the matrimonial site with no overstated emphasis on unnecessary elements. And I’m no soppy fan of such trends; I just enjoyed the simplicity and the common sense which emerges through this site. A neat and professional approach is enough and very effective, both for those interested in matrimonial services as well as for an accidental visitor which will be, most likely, paying attention to the construction itself.

40 Vintage Retro Style Website Design Inspiration

with 21 comments

We’ve looked previously at retro illustrations, now let’s see one of the ways you can use them: retro or vintage-style web design. It is a very effective way of creating a striking design for your site, precisely because of the huge contrast between a style that makes you relate to the past perspective on things and the extremely modern and newly technological nature of a web-site. The very phrase retro/vintage site hints to a paradox: one couldn’t have even imagined this kind of technology in the past! Therefore, using a very authentically retro theme for your site would help your visitors see all these daily realities that they’re so used to from a new, unexpected perspective.

40 Vintage Retro Style Website Design Inspiration

If you use successfully the retro design you’ll have great user-experience guaranteed! It’s always going to provoke you a strangely pleasant feeling to see things from our day to day, seemingly ordinary reality, like Youtube, RSS, Twitter, or the email dressed in this crumpled, slightly rusty coat of the past. As you’ll see in all the sites displayed here, the secret is obtaining a special atmosphere for your site, making all the retro elements that you choose come together in an authentic and original way.

20 Websites With High Level of User Experiences

with 11 comments

User experience (UX) is subjective. It’s all about how a specific user experiences a particular website, the content it contains, how easy it is to navigate, how fast it loads and generally how enjoyable and satisfying it is to use. One man’s dream site is another man’s nightmare, so please forgive me if the 20 sites I highlight below are at odds with your perception of superlative UX.

20 Websites with High Level of User Experiences

The sites I have chosen, some that you’ll know, others that you won’t, all look great, perform a specific function better than any of their competitors, and do so with style and technical finesse. Shops, browser-based apps, social networking tools, search engines, online magazines and much more, I’ve covered all the bases here. If you’ve got any more suggestions, leave a comment and let me know.

30 Amazing Corporate Website Designs

with 8 comments

This post shows corporate pages, pages with simple yet elegant designs. It is considered as a corporate trend, to look smart. The layout, as well as the text, expresses very suggestive and clear ideas: a company has a mission and through the immediate image they try to expose if not the whole concept of their mission, at least an attractive key point which best describes their activity, a distinctive plus. Usually the appearance of this distinctive note is quite discreet, by taking the shape of a more simple design than what we’ve exploited in our previous articles.

30 Amazing Corporate Website Designs

In fact, the message has to be clear and a minimal, stylish web design is the best approach; a very colorful or crowded home page would make the visitor focus on other aspects, rather than the corporation itself (and its mission).

30 Glamorous Fashion Designer Website Designs

with 6 comments

We’ll be looking now at a great collection featuring the best fashion designers’ sites. The tendency in this kind of sites, much similar with the photographers’ sites that we’ve seen before, is to let the images of the designer’s creation speak for themselves. Therefore, the photos or videos of the fashion collections and fashion shows tend to expand all over the screen and become, again, the main element of the site. The rest of the site graphics is subtle and elegant most of the times in order not to compete with the collection images on display.

30 Glamarous Fashion Designers Website Designs

Of course, there are also some sites whose graphics are densely drawn or collaged, but in a way that is closely related to the designer’s personal style. Most of the sites are in Flash and they are quite dynamic but the main feature is combining the moving video image with the site graphics in an interesting and original way.

23 Unconventional eCommerce Website Designs

with 12 comments

The snapshots gathered within this collection refer to a category of web designers that is willing to invest a great deal of resources in the looks of their pages. Ecommerce sites are very elaborate and striking original. Actually, these are the sites which participate and win web design contests which ensures them not only prestige – by the seriousness of the presentation – but also a greater number of potential clients which are put face to face not only with magnificent looks and presentation but, willingly or not, also with the concept behind the design.

23 Unconventional eCommerce Website Designs

Of course, what is so provocative about this concept is the interactivity. Once loaded, the page provokes us to explores its corners, if not even invite us inside a miniature world where we are free to explore all corners at wish; usually this liberty is granted once the page has loaded (it might be a bit frustrating for users with not very advanced machineries) and faced you with a demonstrative “performance” which is meant to grasp your interest.
