Very inspiring and way outside the common schlock others are peddling. The custom die cuts look expensive but very cool.

gets costly with two colors or more

These are among the worst business cards I’ve seen. I’d recommend this as what to avoid. They all lack the most important element which is substance. In a year you’ll look back at this list and understand, since they’ll all be out of style by then (well they actually already are a couple years past their time).

@Kevin (colorforacure) cards322 Matthew Inman look like Moo Minicards. Have you considered using a photo of Emily (or some art work by her)?

MUSTACHE and http://www.moustache.com do not go together. Either get http://www.mustache.com or change the card to MOUSTACHE.
For a business card you need to think about how they are going to get used. If the main goal is to have someone take a card, then you might want it to be flashy. If people are going to have your card anyway but you want them to notice it among many competitors, then you might want more branding elements. If people are going to your card for information but they’re not trying to choose among cards, then being noticed isn’t the main goal; making it easy to read and providing lots of information (email, web, phone, name, services) is the best use of that space. If you often write extra information on the card before giving it out, or if you’re giving a card to Hugh MacLeod, be sure to leave lots of white space for writing.

Hi All,
Any information presented in a right spot / color / message is always full filed. Hence forth has no expiry date. But it will be there in the same cycle…

These are some really nice modern designs that have the popular web 2.0 / vector design flavors that will work very well for people in many fields but not all. Someone commented that they are the worst designs as they will be out dated soon. I strongly disagree. I hope this style sticks around for a long time.

wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
great!!

Agree with Harry. This is exactly the kind of cards that is eye candy enough to please clients but has absolutely no core idea behind it.

Nice! Does anyone know what the name for the style of printing that alternates between matte and glossy finish – like in the first business card example at the top?
Is this sort of printing generally available only by highly specialized printers?
May 23rd, 2008 at 3:45 pm
Most of them are really busy to my taste. There’re some nice through.

It’s called spot varnish. Most printers will be able to do this for you. Just ask them. Make sure to ask how they prefer you design/setup the file for spot varnishes. ie. layers, or a different color, etc.

These are really great cards!
I also like the blogger cards (featuring a customizable tag cloud) from http://www.ooprint.com
They offer some great designs, including student business cards & 2008 campaign cards with your political candidate on the back.
Plus, they have a great trial offer . . . you can get 100 business cards free!

Just simply creative! Fabulous!!! There are so many business card printers/designers out there who lack creativity. With this in mind, would you consider providing some referrals to great designers and printers that can provide these types of quality business cards? As a marketing consultant, I would really appreciate it. Thanks and God Bless, Tyra
